It opens the client-side Pro features, mainly App Lock for private apps, the ad-free interface and part of the advanced scam protection. These live in the app itself, so a modified build can switch them on. The exact set is listed in the MOD info line at the top of this page.
Does the MOD give VPN and cloud features for free?
No, there is no guarantee of that. The VPN, cloud file checks and account-tied features run through AVG's own service, not inside the app. The MOD removes interface locks, but it cannot rebuild the server part, so do not expect a full VPN or cloud scanning to stay on.
