It is mainly online. The core mode pits you against real players in PvP battles, and those matches run on Artstorm's servers, so the server validates what your ship does. There are training options against bots, but the game is built around live multiplayer.
Can I get banned for using the mod?
Yes, the risk online is high. Artstorm runs strict anti-cheat, with automatic bans for abnormal stats like impossible damage and a server kick if you try to field a ship you should not have. The "anti-ban" claims on aggregator sites are not reliable, so keep mod features to offline use.
