About Us
Last updated: Jun 22, 2026
APKGStore is an independent catalog of Android apps, games and MOD APKs, run by a small, hands-on editorial team since 2018. New apps and updates appear on Google Play every single day, and keeping track of what is genuinely worth installing — and, just as importantly, what is safe to install — is hard work. That is exactly the gap we fill. We find, download, test and describe Android software so that you can get it quickly, in your own language, without guesswork and without getting buried in pop-ups, fake buttons or endless redirects. Think of us as the friend who has already tried the app, checked that it works and can tell you in plain words whether it is worth your time.
Everything on this site is built around one promise: a fast, clean and honest download experience. No forced sign-ups, no SMS walls, no empty “100% safe” badges with nothing behind them. Just clear information, real testing and direct links.
Our story
APKGStore started in 2018 as a tiny side project: a couple of Android enthusiasts who were tired of sketchy download sites and wanted a cleaner place to share APKs they had already checked themselves. Word spread, the catalog grew, and what began as a handful of pages turned into a multilingual library covering thousands of apps and games. The team is still small and still hands-on — we would rather describe one app properly than publish a hundred pages nobody can trust. That focus on quality over quantity is the reason readers keep coming back.
What we do
We follow new releases and version updates across thousands of Android apps and games. For each one we write a clear, human description, explain what the app actually does, who it is for, and (for MOD versions) exactly what has been changed compared with the original. We keep every page current with the latest version number, file size, release date, developer name and the minimum Android version required to run it. When a new build comes out, we update the page rather than leaving an old file online. The entire catalog is available in 15 languages, so you get the same information whether you read English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, Turkish, Polish, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Finnish, Swedish, Ukrainian, Vietnamese or Indonesian.
How we test and verify every file
Trust is the whole point of a download site, so we do not simply claim that a file is safe — we check it, every time, before it goes live. Our process has several steps:
- Sourcing. We take the file from the official developer, the Google Play build, or a trusted and verified mirror — never from an anonymous re-upload we cannot trace.
- Malware scanning. Every file is scanned with multiple antivirus engines for malware, spyware, trojans and adware before we even consider publishing it.
- Permission review. We look at the permissions the app requests and flag anything that does not match what the app is supposed to do, so you are not handing over your contacts or location for no reason.
- Real-device installation. We install the APK or XAPK on real Android phones and tablets to confirm it actually opens, runs and does not crash on launch.
- MOD verification. For modified versions we test that the advertised features — unlocked content, removed ads, extra coins and so on — really work as described, and we tell you honestly if something does not.
- Signature & integrity checks. We compare the package against the known-good build so you are getting the real app, not a tampered copy.
Every app page shows when it was last tested and updated. If a file ever stops working, you can flag it in one click using the “Report a problem” and “Request an update” links, and it goes straight to our editors.
APK, XAPK and OBB — what they are
An APK (Android Package Kit) is the standard installer format for Android apps, the same kind of file Google Play uses behind the scenes. An XAPK is a bundle that packs the APK together with extra data (OBB) files, used by larger games that need additional resources. An OBB file holds that extra game data — textures, audio and assets — separately from the app itself. We provide step-by-step install guides for each format, including how to use an APK installer for XAPK bundles, so even if you have never sideloaded an app before, you can follow along.
What MOD versions are (and our honest stance)
A MOD is a modified version of an app or game, changed by the community to unlock features, remove ads or adjust gameplay. We label every MOD clearly, describe exactly what has been changed, and provide these versions for testing and educational purposes only. For ordinary free apps we share the original, unmodified APK — identical to the one on Google Play — so you always know whether you are downloading the official build or a community MOD.
What you will (and won’t) find here
You will find honest reviews, step-by-step install guides for APK, XAPK and OBB files, fixes for common errors like “App not installed” or “There was a problem parsing the package”, screenshots, version history and direct, fast downloads. You will not find pirated paid apps passed off as free, forced registration, premium-rate SMS walls, or misleading download buttons that lead somewhere else. We do not host pirated content; download links point to the original source, and we remove anything a verified rights holder asks us to take down.
Editorial standards
Every page is reviewed by a real editor before it is published. We write our own descriptions rather than copying store listings, we keep older pages updated as apps evolve, and we correct mistakes when readers point them out. Our reviews aim to be useful and balanced: if an app has weak points, drains battery, or its MOD features are unstable, we say so. The goal is for you to make an informed choice, not to be sold to.
The team behind it
APKGStore is maintained by a dedicated editorial team that has been testing, verifying and writing about Android software since 2018. We are readers and Android users ourselves, and we measure ourselves every day against a simple standard: fast, clean and honest Android downloads you can trust. As the platform grows, that standard does not change.
