Third Person Games for Android: Camera Behind the Hero

Why the camera view matters
Third person means you see your character or vehicle from behind or above, instead of through their eyes. It is a view, not a genre, so the tag can hold a shooter, a driving lesson or an adventure. What these have in common is that you see more of the surroundings, which makes corners, cover and obstacles easier to read on a small screen.
That is why the view is popular in mobile shooters. Compared with first person games, you can spot enemies at the edge of the screen, and in battle royale titles you can peek around walls. For driving, the chase camera helps judge the width of the car.
How to choose
Decide what you want to do with the view. If you want fights, look at shooters, and if you want calm learning, a driving game is closer. Check the controls, because two thumbs on a small phone can feel crowded, and look for options to resize buttons or change sensitivity. Think about whether you want to play against others or alone.
What to check before installing
Read the Android version and size. Shooters with building and large maps are heavy and may need extra data on first launch, so use Wi-Fi and keep storage free. Online modes need a connection, and a MOD build can be rejected by the server. In MOD versions of shooters, the usual changes are menu options or resources, and these can get an account banned in online play, so use a separate account. Offline driving games usually work without internet. For install help, see our guides.
Games to start with
- Creative Destruction: a battle royale style shooter with building, played from behind the character, here as a mega mod.
