How I became a guru of downloading videos from TikTok and Twitter
You know, sometimes I think social media is designed to drive us crazy. Here's a story from my life: I was sitting there one day, scrolling through my TikTok feed (well, what else is there to do on a Saturday night when all your friends have 'suddenly' forgotten your birthday?). And then BANG! - I see a video of some genius making carbonara pasta in a coffee machine. Yeah, yeah, in the coffee thing! If only I knew then how to download Twitter video, my life would have been so much easier.
I'm thinking, 'This is it! This is what I'm going to surprise my friends with at the next party!' (Yeah, like I still have friends left after that cake and fire alarm story, but that's another story).
And then the 'fun' part begins.....
So, how to download this culinary miracle? I, naive, thought it was easy. Ha! Naive young Chukchi boy...
At first, I tried just clicking on the video and holding my finger like I did on WhatsApp. The result? Zero. Then I went to the TikTok settings. Maybe there's a magic 'Download all videos in the world' button there? Spoiler: no.
I spent the next two hours googling queries like 'how to download videos from tiktok', 'tiktok download videos without registration and sms', and my favourite: 'why is TikTok such a pain in one place'.
And so, just when I was ready to give up and just film the screen on my pre-flaw phone (the quality would be such that the paste in the coffee machine would look like alien slime), I came across ssstik.io.
Okay, enough about TikTok. Let's talk about Twitter. You know, I used to think Twitter was a bit of a big deal. I mean, what's 280 characters? What can you write? 'fed the cat, petted the dog, life is good #live happily ever after'?
But then I saw a video of Elon Musk launching a rocket into space. And then it hit me - this is the future! I should save this video and show it to my future grandchildren (assuming, of course, someone agrees to have kids with me after the cake story).
Only the trouble is, downloading the video from Twitter was even harder than from TikTok. I was ready to just memorise the video and retell it like ancient storytellers.
Mission Impossible: Operation Download TikTok

ssstik.io: My personal saviour in the world of TikTok
Guys, this site is the bomb. Here's how it works:- You find the video you want to download. In my case, the culinary masterpiece of the century.
- You copy the link to the video. This is the thing at the top, where they usually write www and stuff like that.
- Go to ssstik.io. I mean, you type in the address. You don't have to actually go anywhere, you can stay in your pyjamas.
- You put the link in the box. There is one, even with my 'talent' to find the right button I managed.
- Click 'Download'. And voila!
Sudden twist: Twitter wants attention too
Okay, enough about TikTok. Let's talk about Twitter. You know, I used to think Twitter was a bit of a big deal. I mean, what's 280 characters? What can you write? 'fed the cat, petted the dog, life is good #live happily ever after'?

ssstwitter.com: Because even tweets deserve freedom
And then, like a knight on a white horse (well, or like a programmer on a white macbook), along comes ssstwitter.com. Guys, it was like the second coming. I kid you not! It works just as simply:- You find the tweet with the video.
- You copy the link.
- You paste it into ssstwitter.com.
- Click 'Download.'
