Why it's delisted (honest status)

AVP: Evolution is no longer on Google Play. The game used Fox's Aliens vs. Predator license, and once that license lapsed the app was pulled from the store. The "Get it on Google Play" link now leads to a search page rather than a real listing, which is the usual sign of a removed app. There are no more official updates: version 2.1 is the final build, the same one every archive carries. That is why the game is installed from an APK plus OBB today.

How to install APK + OBB

1. Download both files from this page: the APK (about 28 MB) and the OBB (about 466 MB).
2. Allow installation from unknown sources for your browser in Android settings (Settings → Security).
3. Install the APK, but do not open it yet.
4. Place the OBB file in Android/obb/com.fde.avpevolution/ using a file manager. An OBB is an "opaque binary blob", a data file that holds the game's content, and the game reads it from that exact folder.
5. Now open the game. Launching before the OBB is in place gives a black screen or a crash, so always put the OBB in first.

Alien or Predator: which to play

The two campaigns feel different. The Alien is fast and vertical, built around ambush: cling to ceilings, drop on a marine, and vanish. The Predator is a heavier, ranged fighter, cloaking and picking off targets with plasma. If you are new, start as the Predator, since its upright combat is more forgiving; move to the Alien once you are comfortable with stealth and wall-crawling. Both run smoothly on low-end devices, so a spare or older phone is a fine place to play.

MOD or original?
