What is Card Wars, Adventure Time?

Card Wars is a duel game built around the Adventure Time episode of the same name, made by Cartoon Network. You play as Finn, Jake and other characters from the show, and each duel splits into two stages. In the Floop Stage you set up your side of the field: lay down lands, summon creatures, plan your turn. Then the Battle Stage resolves it, and your creatures trade hits until someone's life runs out.

You build a deck of 10 to 20 cards: creatures, spells and buildings, each tied to a world type. The campaign takes you across the Land of Ooo, and you unlock more characters as you go: Finn, Jake, BMO, Princess Bubblegum and Flame Princess all show up. It is light to pick up but has real deck-building underneath.

Why it's not on Google Play anymore

Card Wars used to be a paid game on Google Play and the App Store. Cartoon Network closed it down and removed it from both, so there is no official listing left to buy or download. The store button on this page only runs a search, because the app itself is gone.

Any online extras the game once had are dead now that the servers are off. What still works is the core game: the single-player campaign, deck building and duels all run fully offline. That is the whole game for most people, and an APK is the only way to get it. The file here is the final 1.15.3, while most sites still hand out the older 1.11.0.

What the MOD gives you

The MOD is simple and honest, because the game is single-player. It tops up the two in-game currencies so you can build and upgrade decks without the grind.

Tips for deck building

The MOD gives you the currency; the wins still come from the deck. A few things worth knowing before your first duel:

• Balance creatures and buildings. Buildings sit on your lands and pump out value each turn, but a deck with no creatures has nothing to attack with. Aim for a mix.
• Floop your cards on purpose. In the Floop Stage you flip cards to trigger their abilities; timing a floop before the Battle Stage often decides the duel.
• Upgrade cards between battles. Spend coins on your core cards rather than spreading thin; a few strong cards beat a pile of weak ones.
• Match your landscapes to your cards. Each card wants a certain land type to play, so build lands that feed the creatures you actually run.

Card Wars vs Card Wars Kingdom

Two different games share the name. This page is the original Card Wars, Adventure Time, the one from the show. Card Wars Kingdom is a later sequel with a different, more RPG-style battle system, and it was also shut down, so it is no longer on the stores either.
