Is it free? Do I need a MOD?

No MOD, and none exists. The personal Google Voice plan is free, so any listing selling you a "premium APK" or an "unlocked" build is either a fake or a scam, there is nothing to unlock. The app itself hands you the number and the calling at no cost.

There are paid Google Voice plans, but those are business tiers (Google Workspace) that start around $10 per month per user and add admin controls and multi-user features. That is a separate subscription you buy from Google, not a mod, and the free personal app is all most people ever need.

Availability: US-only for new numbers

Here is the honest part most download pages skip. Getting a new Google Voice number is available only in the United States. Google checks your location, and you need a real US phone number to verify the account, VoIP numbers usually get rejected. Requests from outside the US are turned away at sign-up.

An existing US number is different. Once your account has one, the app keeps working from any country over Wi-Fi or mobile data, which is why so many travelers and expats rely on it. There is also a change to note: since 30 January 2026, new numbers require identity verification, which can include your name, a government ID and an address. That is a Google policy, not something the APK version changes.

How to download and install Google Voice APK
