Hard Time by MDickie is an open prison sandbox where you play an inmate and mostly make your own story. You build a reputation, pick fights or make friends, join or dodge the gangs, and try to stay alive long enough to serve your time or escape. Work jobs for money, lift weights, craft weapons and tools, and manage your needs while the whole yard reacts to what you do. Guards, rival inmates and the daily routine all run on MDickie's signature ragdoll physics and loose animation, so brawls and mishaps play out in that chaotic, unpredictable way the studio is known for. You can customize your character and even edit the world, which is why no two sentences feel the same.

What the VIP mod unlocks

Because the game runs entirely on your device, these unlocks apply to your local save and stay put. The exact set of toggles depends on the current build, so the real list is always shown in the «MOD info» line at the top of this page, and we re-test the file after each game update.

Offline play and safety

Hard Time plays fully offline. There is no online mode, no leaderboard and no server economy, so the VIP unlock is applied locally and nothing can be reset or flagged. That means there is no ban risk here at all: it is your own sandbox on your own phone. The one real risk with any modded prison sim is a bad re-upload from a random site, which is why we scan and test each build ourselves. How to download and install

1. Tap the green Download APK button at the top of this page. The file downloads directly, with no registration or SMS.
2. If the Google Play version is installed, remove it first. The MOD has a different signature and will not install over it.
3. Allow installation from unknown sources for your browser (Settings, then Security).
4. Open the file, tap Install and launch it. VIP and the unlocked content are already active.

Tips for reputation, crafting and escape

• Mind your reputation. Helping other inmates and finishing jobs builds respect, while random attacks turn the whole yard against you. Pick your fights.
• Keep your needs topped up. Hunger, health and energy all drop over time, so eat, sleep and use the gym instead of letting them bottom out mid-brawl.
• Craft before you need it. Shanks and tools take materials, so gather what you can early and keep a weapon ready for when a gang comes calling.
• Plan the escape, do not rush it. Learn the guard routes and weak points, keep some money and gear, and move when the yard is distracted rather than in plain sight.
• Save often. The sandbox is chaotic and a single bad fight can end a long run, so lock in your progress when things are calm.
