Minions Paradise APK is a file you can still download, but not really play anymore. Minions Paradise was Electronic Arts' casual island-builder set in the Despicable Me universe, and EA switched off its servers back in 2017. The game needed a live connection to run, so once the servers went dark, the app stopped working. This page gives you the straight story: what the game was, why it no longer loads, and what you can play instead.

What was Minions Paradise?

Minions Paradise was a free casual city-builder and adventure game from Electronic Arts, made with Illumination and Universal, the studios behind the Minions films. The setup was simple and silly. A Minion named Phil sinks the cruise ship, strands everyone on a tropical island, and it falls to you to turn that mess into a proper resort paradise.

You built huts, ran little activities, and kept the Minions busy and happy while the island grew. It went into soft launch in April 2015 and got a full worldwide release in October 2015. For a while it was a bright, goofy movie tie-in that fans enjoyed on their phones.

Why it no longer works

Here is the catch. Minions Paradise was an online-only game. Your island, your progress and most of the gameplay lived on EA's servers, and the app checked in with them every time you opened it. There was no real offline mode to fall back on.

EA switched those servers off on 22 May 2017. After that the game was pulled from the app stores, and the app itself can no longer reach what it needs to start. You can install it, but it hangs at the loading or connection stage.

About the "MOD Unlimited XP / Money"

You will see other pages advertising a Minions Paradise MOD with unlimited XP or money. Be honest with yourself here, because it does nothing. Your coins, XP and everything you built were stored on EA's servers, not on your phone. A mod can only change numbers on your own device, and there is no server left to accept them.

So even a flawless money or XP mod cannot hand you a working game. The badge you might spot on some sites is a leftover from the years the game was live. We would rather tell you that up front than push a file that cannot deliver.

Can you still play it?

Officially, no. There is no supported way to play Minions Paradise today. A few options float around, though, and it is fair to know what they are:

• Official servers: gone since 2017, with no sign EA plans to bring them back.
• Fan revival projects: now and then, fans try to rebuild the servers themselves. These are unofficial, come with no promises, and sit completely outside our control.
• Archived APK: you can sideload the old app, but it hits the missing server and stalls on launch.
