What was Wynk Music?

The app streamed at up to 320 kbps and covered 14 plus Indian languages. It also carried podcasts and Hello Tunes, the ringback tones you set for people who called you. A paid tier, Wynk Premium, removed ads and added higher-quality streaming and offline saves. All of that is written in the past tense now, for a reason.

Why Wynk Music shut down

In 2024 Airtel stepped back from running its own music app and partnered with Apple instead. The music features inside Wynk were switched off by the end of November 2024, and the app was pulled from Google Play.

Airtel refunded Wynk Premium to active subscribers and offered them Apple Music, with several months free as part of the move. In short, the company handed its music users to Apple and closed the product. The Wynk you may remember from your Airtel plan is no longer a working service.

Does the Wynk Music MOD APK still work?

No. This is the part the mod sites will not tell you. Wynk Music was a server-based service: your phone held the app, but the songs, the catalogue and your downloads all came from Airtel's servers. Once those servers went dark, nothing on the phone side can bring the music back.

That means a "premium" mod, a "no ads" build or a "320 kbps offline" APK is empty. There is no backend for it to talk to. You can install such a file and it will simply fail to load any track, because the music never lived inside the APK.
