What is Cut the Rope?

Cut the Rope is a physics puzzle from ZeptoLab, one of the most downloaded games on Android with over 100 million installs and a stack of awards. The idea is easy to pick up: a piece of candy hangs on ropes, and you slice them in the right order so it swings, drops and lands in Om Nom's mouth. Every level also holds three stars, and collecting all three is where the real challenge sits.

There is a lot of game here. Over 425 levels sit across 17 boxes, and each box adds a new twist. Bubbles float the candy up, spikes pop it, air cushions push it sideways, and gravity flips the whole board. Between boxes you can watch the short Om Nom Stories clips that gave the little green creature his own following. Simple rules first, then hundreds of levels that slowly turn into genuine head-scratchers.

Tips for 3-star runs

• Plan the order of your cuts before you slice. One rope gone too early can swing the candy past a star you needed.
• Use the swing. Let the candy build momentum on a rope instead of dropping it straight down.
• Read the bubbles and air cushions. They are there to redirect the candy, and most three-star routes ride one of them.
• Grab the stars first, the candy second. The candy in Om Nom's mouth clears the level; the stars are the score.
• If a level fights you, ask for one hint to see a clean solution, then go back and chase the stars on your own.
