The JioCinema APK is the Android app for Jio's Indian streaming service: Bollywood and Hollywood movies, web series, and live sport including cricket and the IPL. The file on this page is build v24.04.020, scanned for malware and installed on a real Android device by our editors before publishing, something we've done since 2018. One thing to flag up front: JioCinema has since merged into JioHotstar, so this is an older, historical build rather than the live service.

What is JioCinema?

JioCinema is an on-demand streaming app from Reliance Jio, built for viewers in India. It carries Bollywood and Hollywood films, Indian web series and shows, and a big slice of live sport, cricket and the IPL, plus football and other events. Content spans several languages, with dubbing and subtitles across Hindi, English and regional titles.

Beyond video, the app covers the usual streaming extras. You get watch-party viewing with friends, Chromecast to a TV, picture-in-picture on your phone, and resume across devices, so a show you start on mobile picks up where you left off. It runs on Android 5.0 and up.

JioCinema is now JioHotstar

Here is the context that matters. On 14 February 2025, JioCinema and Disney+ Hotstar were combined into a single service called JioHotstar, run by JioStar under the Reliance-Disney joint venture. Existing subscribers were moved over to the new platform, and the standalone JioCinema brand was effectively retired.

What does that mean for this download? This APK dates from April 2024, so it is a historical build of JioCinema from before the merger. The live catalogue, sport rights and account system now sit under JioHotstar. We keep this page as a record of the app, but if you want the current service, JioHotstar is where it lives.

Subscription and "ad-free"

A quick myth-buster, since plenty of listings get this wrong. JioCinema is a server-side streaming service. What you can watch, and whether you see ads, is decided by your account and subscription on Jio's servers, not by anything stored on your phone. A client-side "Remove ADS" tweak cannot reliably strip ads or hand you paid content, and on a rebranded backend it may do nothing at all.

So we won't promise you free premium or a guaranteed ad-free stream. That access is tied to a paid plan. Being straight about it saves you a download that wouldn't do what those other pages claim.
