GTA San Andreas MOD APK is Rockstar's open-world classic for Android with two things added on top: unlimited money from the first launch and a CLEO menu that spawns cars, teleports you across the map and turns cheats on without typing a single code. The official game is back on Google Play, but it is a paid app there. Here you get the classic build as a free direct file, so you can try the mod first and decide later.

What is GTA San Andreas on Android?

GTA San Andreas is Rockstar's 2004 open-world game, ported to Android by War Drum Studios. You play Carl "CJ" Johnson, who comes home to Los Santos after his mother is killed and gets pulled back into the streets he left behind. The story runs across a whole fictional state, Los Santos, San Fierro and Las Venturas, plus the countryside between them, and takes well over 70 hours if you do more than the main missions.

The mobile port is not a straight copy. War Drum reworked the graphics for phones, added on-screen controls and gamepad support, and the official build keeps cloud saves. Underneath it is still the same San Andreas: gang wars, planes, bikes, the gym, and a map that felt enormous in 2004 and still does on a phone screen.

GTA San Andreas in 2026: where to actually get it

In 2026 the classic GTA San Andreas is back on Google Play as a paid, 18+ app, while the Definitive Edition left Netflix Games in December 2025 and is no longer available on Android. If you have been searching and coming up empty, that is why, where to get this game changed twice in two years.

Here is the short version. Rockstar pulled the classic games at the end of 2023 and pushed the remastered Trilogy through Netflix Games instead. Then in December 2025 the whole GTA series left Netflix, and the Definitive Edition disappeared from Android with it. Around the same time the original San Andreas returned to the Google Play store: the live listing (com.rockstargames.gtasa) sits at 4.5 stars from over a million reviews, was last updated in January 2026, and is a paid app rated 18+.

So there are two honest routes. Buy the classic on Google Play, or download the same classic build here as a MOD APK for free. The mod is the original game, not the remaster, and the remaster is simply gone from mobile now.

What the GTA San Andreas MOD APK gives you

The MOD is the full game plus two changes, packaged as one APK + OBB download. It adds no online features and no new missions. This is single-player San Andreas with the grind taken out.

To be straight about the limits: the mod changes your money and adds the CLEO menu, and that is it. There is no multiplayer to unlock and nothing server-side, because the game does not have any.

How to install (APK + OBB, about 2.5 GB)

Download the APK and OBB from this page, allow installation from unknown sources, place the OBB in the Android/obb/com.rockstargames.gtasa/ folder, then install the APK, the whole package is about 2.5 GB, so free up space first.

1. Make sure you have at least 5 GB free, the download is around 2.5 GB and the game needs room to unpack.
2. Tap the green Download APK button at the top of this page and grab the OBB file listed with it. Both download directly, no registration or SMS.
3. Allow installation from unknown sources for your browser or file manager (Settings → Security, or Settings → Apps → Special access on newer Android).
4. Move the OBB into Android/obb/com.rockstargames.gtasa/ (create the folder if it is not there). Any file manager can do this.
5. Install the APK, then launch the game. The first boot takes a minute while it reads the OBB, and your money is already maxed.

Cheats and the CLEO menu: how to use them

San Andreas is famous for its cheat codes, but typing button combos on a touchscreen is awkward, the CLEO menu is the mobile answer. You open a small on-screen panel and tap what you want instead of remembering a code for it.

A few things the menu commonly handles:

• Spawn a car, bike or plane right next to you instead of hunting for one.
• Teleport to a marker or across the map so you skip the drive.
• Refill health, armour and ammo mid-firefight.
• Toggle classic effects, weather, wanted level, traffic.

Tips for the story

Unlimited money removes the cash grind, but San Andreas still asks for skill and time. A few things worth knowing early:

• Respect and muscle still matter. Recruit gang members and hit the gym early, several missions get easier once CJ is stronger and your gang can back you up.
• Take territory in Los Santos before you leave the city. Holding turf gives you a steady income and safer streets to move through.
• Learn to fly before the desert missions. The flight school in Las Venturas stops a lot of players; clear it early so the late game does not stall.
• Save often, at any safehouse. Some missions are long with no mid-mission checkpoints, and one failed run can cost you twenty minutes.
• Do not rush past the map. Driving schools, races and side jobs unlock upgrades and shortcuts that make the main story smoother.

MOD vs the Google Play version

Pick the Google Play version if you want cloud saves and automatic updates. It syncs your progress and stays current on its own. Pick the MOD if you want the classic build for free, fully offline, with unlimited money and the CLEO menu ready to go.

One thing that is not a real risk here: bans. GTA San Andreas is single-player, with no server and no GTA Online in this game, so there is nothing to be banned from, the mod only touches your own local save. The trade-off is that the mod does not auto-update, and moving a save between the mod and the store version has to be done by hand.
