Minecraft: Story Mode APK is the full Telltale adventure with all episodes unlocked in one download: the complete Season 1 plus the Adventure Pass, made with Mojang, where you play Jesse and rebuild the Order of the Stone to stop the Wither Storm. It is a story game with choices, not a sandbox, and what you decide in one episode changes the next.

There is one reason this page exists. On 25 June 2019 the game was pulled from every store, Google Play, the App Store, Steam and the consoles, and it was never brought back, so the APK is now the only way to play it. The file here was scanned for malware and installed on a real Android device by our editors before publishing, the check we have run since 2018.

What is Minecraft: Story Mode?

Minecraft: Story Mode is an episodic adventure by Telltale Games, built in partnership with Mojang around the Minecraft world. This is a story quest driven by choices, not a building sandbox: you talk to characters, pick what Jesse says and does, and the action comes in short quick-time scenes rather than open crafting. Choices carry between episodes and change how the story turns out.

The Telltale Minecraft: Story Mode you are downloading is the first season, five episodes, with three more from the Adventure Pass. Jesse (voiced by Patton Oswalt) leads a small group of friends against the Wither Storm, a threat eating its way through the Overworld. It is family-friendly, funny in places, and closer to an interactive cartoon than to the Minecraft you build in.

Why it's gone from Google Play (and why the APK is the only way)

The game is gone from Google Play because the license behind it ran out. Telltale Games shut down in late 2018, and the Minecraft rights it held from Microsoft and Mojang expired soon after. On 25 June 2019 Minecraft: Story Mode was delisted from every platform at once.

What makes this delisting unusual is how complete it was. People who had already bought the game could no longer re-download it after that date: the servers that streamed episodes to the app were switched off with everything else. So there is no store button left to press, and no way to fetch missing episodes from inside the game. That is why a working copy has to carry all the episodes itself, and why a clean APK is the only route back into the game in 2026.

What's inside the download

The download is two files: a small APK, around 19 MB, plus a larger OBB with the game's content. A full set of all eight episodes can reach roughly 3 GB once it unpacks, so keep that much free before you start. This is the final release, and the game has not been updated since its last build.

Because it was made between 2015 and 2017, it can misbehave on newer phones. The common issues and what actually helps:

• Black screen on launch. The OBB unpacked wrong or storage ran out mid-install. Delete the game's OBB folder, copy the file over again, and keep about 3 GB free.
• Touch feels shifted or unresponsive. A scaling quirk on Android 12 and newer. Set the game to fullscreen in your phone's app settings and restart the episode.
• Game won't start at all. Most often the OBB is in the wrong place. The path has to be exactly Android/obb/com.telltalegames.minecraft100.

We won't promise it runs flawlessly on every device, because it is an old build. It ran on the phones our editors tested, and the fixes above cover the failures people report most.

How to install (APK + OBB)

Installing Minecraft: Story Mode on Android takes two files and a couple of minutes. Both come from this page, from the buttons at the top, with no registration and no SMS.

1. Tap the green Download APK button, then grab the OBB file listed with it.
2. Allow installation from unknown sources for your browser or file manager (Settings → Security).
3. Move the OBB into the Android/obb/com.telltalegames.minecraft100 folder, creating it if it isn't there. Any file manager can do this.
4. Install the APK, launch the game, and the episodes are ready on the selection screen.

Episodes and choices (no spoilers)

Season 1 is five episodes, with three more added by the Adventure Pass, and every one of them is unlocked here from the start. This is the running order, no spoilers:

Two things are worth knowing before you start. Your choices stick, so when a character says they'll remember something, later episodes really do play out differently. And finished chapters can be replayed from the episode menu, so you can try the other path without restarting the whole season.

Season two and what's next
