MyHeritage APK is the original Family Tree & DNA app for Android: build your family tree, get Smart Matches across other people's trees, dig through historical records, and see your DNA ethnicity and relative matches in one place. This is the real app straight from MyHeritage, not a mod and not a repack. The file on this page is scanned for malware and installed on a real Android device by our editors before publishing, we have done this since 2018.

You sign in with a normal MyHeritage account, and the app talks to the same servers as the Google Play version. So your tree, your matches and any DNA results follow you across phone, tablet and the website.

What is MyHeritage?

MyHeritage is a genealogy platform built around one idea: find out where you come from. You start a family tree by typing in names, dates and life events, and the service starts comparing your tree against everyone else's. The company reports roughly 100 million+ registered users and billions of historical records, so the pool it searches is huge. Relatives turn up across continents, sometimes ones you never knew about.

The Android app is published by MyHeritage Ltd and its package name is air.com.myheritage.mobile. It covers the whole platform: tree building, record search, Smart Matches and the DNA side, all from your phone.

Quick note, since some sites get this wrong: the photo tools here are MyHeritage's own features, not anything borrowed from another app. They run on the pictures you upload to your tree.

Free vs subscription (honest)

Here is the part worth reading before you download. The app itself is free, and so is a basic tree, you can add people, view part of your Smart Matches and get a feel for the platform without paying. What costs money is the deeper stuff: full access to historical records, and confirming your matches, both sit behind a subscription (Data, Complete or Omni plans).

Those paid features are handled on MyHeritage's servers, not inside the file. That means no APK can "open" them. A build that promises premium unlocked can't deliver the records, because your account status lives server-side, and such repacks are a bad idea for your data anyway. If you want full access, the honest route is a subscription through MyHeritage.

DNA testing and privacy

The DNA features need a physical MyHeritage DNA kit, which you buy and mail back. Once your sample is processed, the ethnicity estimate and your relative matches show up right in the app, next to your tree. There is no way to get DNA results from the APK alone.

DNA is sensitive data, so it's worth going in with your eyes open. Your sample and results are processed on MyHeritage's servers, and it's a good idea to read the privacy policy and consent terms before you test, so you know what's stored and how matching works. That's not a warning to scare you off, just the honest picture.

How to download and install

The download is a single APK, no extra data pack. Everything starts from this page.

1. Tap the green Download APK button at the top of this page, the file downloads directly, no registration or SMS.
2. Allow installation from unknown sources for your browser or file manager (Settings → Security).
3. Open the file, tap Install, then launch the app.
4. Sign in with your MyHeritage account, or create one for free, and your tree, matches and DNA sync straight away.
