The eKavach APK is the official primary-healthcare app built by Argusoft for the National Health Mission in Uttar Pradesh. It is not a consumer app and it is not a parental-control tool, it is the field app that ASHA, ANM and other frontline health workers use to record immunization, maternal care and family health data. The file on this page is scanned for malware and installed on a real Android device by our editors before publishing, we have done this since 2018.

So you know what you are getting: this is a government health-system app, free to download, that needs a proper role and login to do real work. Below is what it does, who runs it, and how to install it.

What is eKavach?

eKavach is an initiative of the NHM and the State Health Society of Uttar Pradesh, running on Argusoft's MEDPlat platform. Its job is to digitise comprehensive primary healthcare (CPHC) across the state, turning paper registers into a single longitudinal health record for each beneficiary. Frontline staff, including ASHA, ANM, ASHA Sangini and Community Health Officers (CHO), use it every day to log visits, track pregnancies and follow up on children's vaccine schedules.

Because it sits on the open MEDPlat platform, the same record follows a family over time rather than living in separate notebooks. That continuity is the whole point. One health worker enters a birth, another later logs the immunization, and the history stays connected.

Key modules

The scale here is large. Public NHM figures put the programme at more than 1.38 crore families and over 5 crore beneficiaries recorded through the system. Numbers like these are why the app is built for structured, role-based data entry rather than casual browsing.

Who is it for?

First and foremost, frontline health workers. If you are an ASHA, ANM, ASHA Sangini or CHO in Uttar Pradesh, this is the tool your programme uses in the field. Access is tied to your role and login, so the screens and modules you see depend on the work you are assigned. For ordinary citizens the app is mostly context, it is worth knowing what runs the UP health programmes you take part in, but you cannot use it as a personal health tracker.

How to download and install eKavach APK

The download is a small file, around 11.4 MB, and it runs on Android 5.0 and up. Both the download and the install start from this page.

1. Tap the green Download button at the top of this page, the file downloads directly, no registration or SMS.
2. Allow installation from unknown sources for your browser or file manager (Settings then Security).
3. Open the file, tap Install, then launch the app.

One honest note. Installing the APK gets you the app, but the modules only come alive once you sign in with a valid role and account in the NHM Uttar Pradesh system. Data and privacy

eKavach handles personal medical data for real beneficiaries, births, pregnancies, disease screening and vaccine records. Access is role-based, so a worker only sees the households and modules tied to their posting. All of this data is governed by the NHM Uttar Pradesh privacy policy published on the official government domain (ekavach.upnrhm.gov.in). Treat any device that holds this app the way you would treat a health register, because that is what it is.

Notes

eKavach is an official government app and it is free. There is no legitimate MOD or hacked build of it, and using one on a live health system would put real patient records at risk, so stick to the official APK only.
