Most people never pay for MyFitnessPal, and honestly the free tier covers the important stuff:

Premium — what it adds (and why the APK won't unlock it)

Premium is a paid subscription with a 7-day trial. It layers extra tools on top: meal scan, voice logging, custom macro goals, a net carbs mode, an intermittent fasting tracker, an ad-free view and deeper analytics. Nice extras, but not required to track calories.

Here is the honest part. Premium is checked on MyFitnessPal's servers and tied to your store purchase, so a sideloaded APK cannot switch it on. Any build advertised as "Premium unlocked" is not giving you real Premium, it is either bluffing or bundling something you do not want on your phone. The file on this page is the plain, unmodified app, and it will not pretend otherwise.

Offline use

Basic tracking works without a connection. You can open your diary, log food from items you have used before, record a workout and check your totals while offline. The counts stay on your device and sync up later.

Some things do need internet, though. Syncing with wearables and other apps, pulling fresh entries from the online food database, and the account features all want a connection. So log on the plane, and let it catch up when you are back on Wi-Fi.
